Britain remembers its war dead and a huge celebration was held at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Saturday to mark the occasion. British royalty also watched the concert from a stage on Saturday night. British King Charles also took part together with his wife Queen Camilla, son and heir to the throne of Prince William, his sister Princess Anne and other family members.
A special event for the royals also took place as part of the event. King Charles in particular was touched that evening and was visibly moved.

King Charles holds back tears
A special event took place on Saturday evening for King Charles and the Royal Family. As part of the event, life-size bronze statues of her deceased parents: Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were unveiled at London’s Royal Albert Hall. The monuments are intended to honor the couple’s commitment and dedication to the famous concert building.
Just days before his 75th birthday, Charles appeared emotional as he watched his mother’s rerun, British media reported Sunday. Photos of the British king can confirm this. When the statues are unveiled, they show the real visibly, emotionally and with tears in their eyes.

He himself was allowed to pull back the curtain, revealing the life-size bronze statue of his mother. Queen Camilla had previously been responsible for the unveiling of Prince Philip’s statue.

The two statues of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip for the Royal Albert Hall were erected to mark the building’s 150th anniversary, reports the Daily Mail. The commission for the sculptures was awarded following a competition and now comes from artist Poppy Field. Now they fill the empty niches of the building’s veranda.

November 11th is Armistice Day in Great Britain. It is one of the most important days of remembrance in Britain and serves to commemorate the end of the fighting in the First World War in 1918. Princess Anne paid particular tribute to the approximately 65,000 sailors killed in the Battle of the Atlantic in the Second World War.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and opposition leader Keir Starmer also attended the event with their wives. On Sunday, Charles and Sunak laid wreaths at the Cenotaph war memorial in London. Remembrance Sunday is a central day in the British Royal Calendar. The commemoration falls every year on the second Sunday of November, the one closest to November 11th
