The Yakuza series has long been known for three things: action-packed real-time combat, series hero Kazuma Kiryu, and wacky side adventures. Published in 2020 Yakuza: Like a dragon throws two of them into the sea, introduces us to a new main character, Ichiban Kasuga, and introduces a turn-based combat system.
The concern that too many pillars of the franchise will be torn down at once goes away pretty quickly. Like a Dragon is still a full-fledged Yakuza. In Japan, the series has always been known as Like a Dragon.
The mix of exaggerated humor on the one hand and a serious story on the other works perfectly, the new combat system brings a breath of fresh air and the crazy side activities like karting or karaoke are fortunately left on board.

If you are a fan of classic Japanese RPGs like Chronometric trigger OR Final fantasy If you are, you should listen to the indie hit that only came out in August 2023 Sea of Stars definitely give it a chance. It is a successful homage to the legendary classics not only visually but also in terms of gameplay.
The story revolves around Valere and Zale, who are born during a lunar or solar eclipse and, according to legend, are the only ones capable of resisting the evil villain The Fleshmancer.
The game takes you on a magical journey through a colorful fantasy world. You’ll meet different characters, some of which you can even include in your party, and fight hundreds of animated battles with style.

If there’s a game that needs no introduction, it’s probably Bethesda’s famous RPG Skyrim. The original release of the title is now a good 12 years ago and while you can certainly see the time in the game visually and in terms of gameplay, it has lost almost none of its charm.
The freedom that the Scandinavian-inspired Sky’s Edge gives you is rarely found in other games. You can create your own character and live your own personal story. Become a dragon slayer or spend hours decorating your medieval house.
The possibilities are practically endless. If you’ve never played Skyrim, PS Plus Extra/Premium offers the perfect opportunity to do so. And even those who have already spent countless hours in the role-playing game can still discover new little things.

One of the best RPGs of recent years came practically out of nowhere. Disk Elisio offers a unique experience and breaks new ground in many ways. For example, there are no classic arguments; instead, you need to face your intuition or insecurity in internal dialogues.
What seems to take some getting used to turns out to be a very special kind of role-playing game. You play a detective with mental health issues who wakes up in a rather desolate town with a bad hangover. There’s a body hanging from a branch in the yard and it’s up to you to solve the case.
You’ll meet countless well-written characters, be involved in a revolution, and constantly develop your own (anti-)hero. The Final Cut version ably rounds out the game with fully voiced dialogue and some technical improvements.

There have been light role-playing elements in the Assassin’s Creed series almost since the beginning, but they only took over with the spin-offs Origins AND Odyssey. While the former laid the foundation, the latter significantly expanded many mechanisms.
In Odyssey you can explore much of ancient Greece as Alexios or Kassandra, kill countless enemies, and influence the outcome of certain missions with dialogue decisions.
In addition to the exciting family story, the title is distinguished by a beautiful game world, addictive gameplay and memorable characters. If you’re more interested in ancient Egypt, you can also find its predecessor Origins on PS Plus Extra and Premium.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade

Published in 1997 Final Fantasy7 it is still the highlight of the series for many fans today and is undoubtedly one of the most legendary video games of all time. Square Enix has been working on a whole series of remakes for several years now, the first part of which was released in 2020.
THE Final Fantasy 7 Remake includes – Contrary to what the name suggests, only part of the original story and even rewrites it in some places. Cloud, Tifa and Co.’s adventure is still a lot of fun.
The visual leap is obviously huge compared to the PS2 classic, especially the intergrade version released later for PS5, including the DLC of the same name, is a real delight. It will be released in early 2024 Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth the direct successor. The perfect time to catch up on the RPG or play it again.

With Fallout 4 The second major Bethesda series is also represented in the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalogue. The 2015 XXL RPG once again transports you to a post-apocalyptic world where mutant creatures and bandits hunt you.
Collect weapons and resources, craft armor and further develop your self-created main character. A completely new feature is the extended construction mode, with which you can build your own settlements from collected scrap.
The MMO branch Fallout 76 is also part of the PS Plus subscription package. The title was a real failure, especially in the beginning, but in recent years it has become a really fun game.
