One of the most popular innovations in WoW’s upcoming expansion The War Within is clearly the war pack system. This is clearly aimed at all of you players who level more than one hero and have various “Alts” (alternative characters) in your account. We’ve summarized Blizzard information, BlizzCon 2023, and interviews for you so you can discover them: What are warbands in WoW?

WoW The War Within: Warbands
Longtime players know the problem in WoW (buy now ): Through many expansions, balance adjustments, and whims, people have always wanted to guide other adventurers through Azeroth, but the main character has always come to the fore. After all, for example, he has some Exalted reputations under his belt, further progress on some features (did anyone say Torghast?), and access to most resources. While I could often send the latter to other characters on the account via mail, he was always unnecessarily annoying. The developers saw it too. War packs should solve this problem, which brings a cool visual innovation: you can put together four heroes from your account as an adventuring party in character selection:

In WoW patch 11.0 you will be connected to a warband among all characters on your account, regardless of their faction. They share flight routes unlocked by flight mastersplus your heroes have access to one warband bank at the account levelwhich makes it easy for you to get all the gold if you want also shares reagent compartments. This means you can use all the mats in your account when creating. Special activities will also share progress: leveling up your NPC companion in the Depths, the new instance type in The War Within, is one of them.
You will also share the new Patch 11.0 Fame and Reputation levels with all characters – but this initially doesn’t apply to previous expansions. The developers explained that this is an ongoing project and that they are working on it little by little. As a result, Dragonflight fame levels should also expand account-wide as soon as possible after the release of The War Within. As will be the case with the successes and the many titles:
In the future, many more achievements and titles will be unlocked account-wide in WoW. The War Within and Kriegsmeute make this possible.

Currencies will also be available to all characters in a warband, but you will have to give away some of it when you transfer/use it for another character. Losses in currency transfers remain, but the complicated sending of currency packets from different retailers to specific alts is no longer necessary.
New equipment type: “Warbound”
Another advantage is the ability to drop special equipment. This is “Warbound”, a new variant along with Account Bound and Soul Bound that you cannot trade with other players. You can share such equipment with other characters on the account via your warband’s bank – if they use weapons, trinkets, and pieces of armor, they will become soulbound as usual. These pieces of gear will never be at the same level as the items a character earns, but they can still serve as powerful recovery gear, allowing you to make changes to end-game content more quickly.
If your character equips Warbound gear, he becomes soulbound in the classic way.

The War Pack change also pleases transmog fans
Along with the other benefits of the War Pack, starting with patch 11.0 you will also be able to obtain different transmog skins in WoW much more easily. Because you collect skins of all kinds with all characters. So you can, for example, take on old raids with a warrior and collect fancy transmog sets for hunters, sorcerers, wizards, villains, etc.. The armor class and weapons a hero can carry are no longer important.
Overall, the developers’ goal is to conveniently and flexibly connect individual account characters with war packs, not to bring more player power to your main or even to convey the urgency of having to have more personages. So now you don’t have to worry about needing more heroes. There should simply be fewer downsides to being a fan of the alternatives.
